What stops it from losing my money?+
Several things, and you control all of them. It trades a paper account by default — simulated money, real market data — so nothing is at risk while you evaluate it. You set a risk profile that fixes her stop-loss discipline and caps how much of the account she can commit per cycle. You can set blackout hours when she must not trade, and stop the swarm outright at any time. Every decision is logged with her reasoning, and an AI analyst audits the whole day at the close and grades it.
Does it trade real money?+
It can, and only if you decide it should. Every account starts on your broker's paper environment — live prices, real order routing, simulated capital — and stays there until you're on Pro, connect live brokerage credentials and switch paper mode off yourself. (Schwab has no paper environment, so connecting a Schwab account on Pro is that choice.) Nothing moves an account to real money on its own. Even then Melli won't trade real money intraday unless you switch that on for the swarm yourself, and the risk profile, position caps, stop discipline and kill switch all apply exactly as they do on paper. Run her on paper until the record convinces you.
Which brokers does it work with?+
Alpaca and Charles Schwab. Alpaca covers paper and live trading. Schwab is part of Pro: you connect your own Schwab account through your own Schwab developer app, and Melli walks you through setting it up. Schwab has no paper environment, so a Schwab swarm always trades real money — run her on paper first. Either way she trades stocks, ETFs, options and multi-leg spreads.
Do I have to know how to code?+
No. You connect a brokerage account, pick a trading style from four presets, and write what you want in plain English — “focus on large-cap tech, never hold through earnings”. Melli reads that every cycle. If you do want the detail, advanced mode exposes every parameter she has.
Do I need my own AI API key?+
Not to start. New accounts get $1.00 of trial credit that runs Melli on our key — roughly a working week of her deciding, scouting and reporting. Add your own key from Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic or xAI and you get faster cycles, your pick of model, and your own provider bill.
How is this different from a signal group or a copy-trading bot?+
You are not following anyone. Melli reads the market herself each cycle and explains every decision — what she saw, why she acted, what would change her mind. Nothing is a black box, and the daily audit is written to find her mistakes, not to flatter her.
Who holds my money?+
Your broker does, Alpaca or Charles Schwab. We never touch your funds — Melli places orders through your own connected account, and you can revoke that access from your broker at any time.
